We are learning about Japan. We have learned how to say some greetings in Japanese, tried calligraphy and origami!

Our class really enjoyed the visit from the inflatable planetarium cherie knight today. The children learned all about our solar system and the latest mission to the moon, NASA’s Artemis Project.

We have really enjoyed our Science work today. We answered the question ‘Can you clean dirty water?’ We used sieves, filter paper and evaporation to clean our water.

Congratulations to all the children who completed the Reading Challenge for this half term. In our class, 29 children completed their three reads at home every week of the half term.

Today we have been celebrating World Book Day by reading the story ‘Pretty’ by Canizale. The book has lots of interesting themes and led to some fantastic discussions.

We completed some follow up work looking at what special qualities we all have. We also wrote an email from the point of view of the troll in the story.

We are very lucky to have the Nomad Rangers working with Year 5 this morning. The activities have included pancake making and eating ......

And making keyrings, bug hotels and wild flower seed bombs.The children have really enjoyed it.
