Native fine flavour cacao cultivars and varieties have vast but largely untapped potential to improve local livelihoods conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/co… while their enhanced use will also contribute to a better conservation of cacao genetic resources overall frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

This beauty is my favorite wild🍌: Musa schizocarpa. Sequences says it's an unsuspected, major ancestor of cultivated bananas. No more doubts: our favorite fruit’s early origins are in New Guinea! 🍌🇵🇬🇮🇩! Paper here: doi.org/10.1111/tpj.16… Cirad The Plant Journal Agap Institut

Musa schizocarpa in 🇵🇬 (bunch up side down here). Fruits self-peel when ready. They give a lot of poetry to the bunch look. Bats and birds can easily feed on exposed 🍌 and then spread seeds 💩. It is one of the missing ancestors of our bananas 👉doi.org/10.1111/tpj.16…

4 UN fora are negotiating how to regulate genetic data known as digital sequence information. Sure would be nice if they coordinated a bit and made new rules clear and harmonized. Check out our new paper in Nature Communications: nature.com/articles/s4146…
