My machine learning education has progressed to the point where I lose sleep tossing around a “brilliant” idea, only to find the next day that it doesn’t actually work. This is great! I talked about this a few years ago: amasad.me/carmack

Aaron's story is tragic and it should never have ended that way. But the arguments from Meta regarding fair use are completely different from the arguments you would have to make in Aaron's case. An LLM is not a replacement for the books it was trained on.

5 reasons why the UK is living in 2050! 1. Completely cashless! In the UK, almost nobody carries around cash anymore. You can simply tap your phone to pay, anywhere. Many coffee shops have even stopped accepting cash!

Elon is just pissed because he can't influence politics in Europe the way he has in the US. A gentle reminder: he bought Twitter as a political tool, spent $300M on Trump’s campaign, and wanted to donate up to $100M to the UK’s Reform Party.

Finally a new paper that is actually exciting to me. It’s almost as if it was written from my own thoughts. I will dig in deeper and do a proper review of it. Recommended to me by Artur.

Rare win for Shibuya-ku authorities, who will require combinis and cafes to install trash cans. Trash has been increasing in the area recently with tourists unlikely to take their garbage home like locals.

I am very happy to see a lot of push back on this today on my TL. Yesterday when i read it there was none, and i was worried this may even be a silent majority opinion?! I wrote a scalding criticism, but let it sit because i never rage-post. But now I'm happy to see that's no
