Schools Week Bridget Phillipson This is not a misunderstanding. Local authorities routinely tell schools (and parents) that they cannot apply for EHC needs assessments until the 6k threshold is met.

2. will probably not reach expected stadard at end of KS2 especially if they have got an EHCP. You cannot say that the additional funding is not having an impact based on national results!

We talk a lot about the #SEND Crisis. I think it’s a misnomer. It’s an education crisis. A system which has great endeavours but little flexibility to truly grow the children within it. Things could be different. And it starts with identifying needs correctly and supporting them.
