Martin Lewis Cancelling this allowance was a disaster for many pensioners & a catastrophe for Labour as it gave a terrible first impression of their new government. Many Liberal Democrats campaigned hard to get Labour to change their mind. All who campaigned including Martin Lewis deserve credit.

It is clear from Baroness Taylor of Stevenage’s reply that the Government has no intention of acting on this anytime soon. The loopholes in election law are already being exploited by Reform Ltd. which spent £2m worth of national campaign letters to postal voters, subverting

Stronger regulation preventing bad actors from buying our elections is essential to our democracy. Don’t think this couldn’t happen here.
