It would be horrible for my business because I could no longer scale seamlessly through the markets globally; however, it's probably for the best. Now everywhere you go you're going to see the same aesthetic, the same trends, even the same apparel to a very large extent. It

Launched the first meta ad in months for a new product line and it is spending and converting really well. I had forgotten the joys of getting people to buy! It's gonna be a weird and rough quarter trying to reaccelerate while still fighting on the front line of ops.

To get really really good at anything most of the time you need to endure many months, or even years, of being pretty bad at it. Unfortunately no job tolerates that sort of prolonged underperformance. Which is why at most jobs the most rational MO is to stick to things that

Received 1000+ items across 50+ SKUs today, none were barcoded despite instructions. Got thru 40% by myself tonight. ShipHero has been overriding my Canada inventory counts to 0 so now I also need to do an audit. Very low sales today. Tomorrow’s gotta be better right ?!

I have a lot more appreciation and taste as to why certain places only hire people with ex-banking or consulting experience. For certain types of tasks that don't require a whole lot of creativity but simply the ability to push through, there's nothing quite like the prep of a

Unboxed, sorted and barcoded 1k items in roughly 10 hours altogether. Need to make some room as basement shelving is tight to finish binning. If this fails I can always go work for a 3PL. 😂 My packer is bringing help this weekend so hopefully the end to barcoding is near.

Now that we are pretty certain that we are staying in the house for a while, I want to make some home improvement jobs to make the place feel more permanent (e.g walls maybe carpet). How much would you be comfortable spending on "improving" a long term rental?

sysls I've noticed optimism isn't a personality trait, it's a side effect of trajectory. When you can see where you're going, even vaguely, energy comes back. When you can't, frustration leaks out sideways as judgment of others

most people think ideas come from: - insight - intelligence - taste - reading - vibes but in practice they actually come from: - building the wrong thing - hitting a constraint - getting embarrassed by users - realizing the obvious thing you missed - noticing the second order

"Look how much money we could save if we were a city" "Does the city spend less per person?" "Well, no, they spend more" Struck me as odd when I first found it. It seems pertinent to infrastructure discussions. Infrastructure is not built in a vacuum.

Reaching a stage where I see everything as a marketing problem.😂 We wanna get some families together for a holiday in Caribbean next year. Husband not sure how to get people to commit. Me: why not call it our joint birthday celebration (sum is a round number). His face:

I think it's important to have a degree of fluidity in your character and identity. Otherwise when the going gets rough in some area of your life (it inevitably will) which you perceive to be important, your mental health will suffer greatly. The best cure for that is to be an

I had a non obvious phishing attempt last week that was best I've seen in a while. It was an RFP from a niche org that's relevant for us with a link embedded in a pdf. While not a big segment for us we've sold to munis/edu sector before. A few reasons why I didn't click - The

White collar jobs are not what makes you valuable and never were. Analyzing numbers, putting together slides, these are tasks that humans weren't supposed to be doing to begin with If AI renders you useless in your ability to play a minor role in the ever so meaningful mission

This actually made me laugh out loud. Obviously work from home helps create the basis needed for fertility. To put it into perspective I didn't take any leave at all as a business owner and was totally fine. I have a nanny 12 hrs a week, stuff gets done. I’d like to ramp it up

Watching euros set a scary precedent for taxing unrealised gains.. They already do it here if you give up tax residency. But if they tax unrealised gains annually leaving is suddenly tax free. Which is why I think they won’t… but dumber decisions can and have been made.
