Deeply moved to speak at the student seminar at Weizmann, PES, where I “grew up” as an MSc & PhD student. I shared my journey from undergrad to PI, and the one thing that carried me through: grit, and believing in myself and the quality of my work. Full circle moment 💫

Woke up this morning and asked the lab to mark everyone safe from last night event. Then tonight the windows shook as a residential building near by took a direct hit. Current mood: “This is fine🔥”. Stay safe everyone.

It doesn’t really make sense to feel this attached to a building (one I haven’t set foot in since 2017), but I spent 10 years of my life in it, making friends & scientific discoveries. It was a kind of second home. And now that it’s gone, I’m honestly very sad to say goodbye.

This past week has been a whirlwind. With school, preschool, and campus closed! In between 1,836 meals and 197,373 dishwasher cycles (approx.), I drew some molecular models & recorded a summary lecture for my ‘Plant Molecular Biology’ class to help ease their load. 💪

Two years after the untimely passing of Prof. Guido Sessa, a new plant growth chamber complex was inaugurated today at the Institute for Cereal Crops Research in his memory. A brilliant researcher and beloved colleague, his legacy lives on in the science he loved. 🌾💚
