Loved speaking with Andrew Ford at ABC Australia about Puccini’s Trittico, new work development, and more! abc.net.au/listen/program…

Grateful for this inspiring community of conductors that Marin Alsop has created. Visibility, mentorship, and support are critical for every artist – and absolutely essential if change is to take place. Thank you to Kristin Jurkscheit, @raviniafestival, and Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship.

Operatic innovation With funding for new work an ever-shrinking resource, conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya tailors her approach to the budget available and – along with her peers - makes the case for experimentation in opera Lidiya Yankovskaya classical-music.uk/opinion/articl…

So, how *should* we support our creators? To find out, read my Classical Music article on operatic innovation. classical-music.uk/opinion/articl… Thanks to Royce Vavrek Errollyn Wallen Joby Talbot for speaking with me for this piece!

Before Lidiya Yankovskaya appears with the Nashville Symphony (and guest violinist Simone Porter) as guest conductor for the Wagner and Dvořák program, contributor @amystumpfl catches up with the renowned maestro. nashvillescene.com/music/features…

Tonight, we kick off San Diego Opera's 60th anniversary season with La bohème – the same Puccini opera that officially launched the company in 1965! 📸 J. Kat Photo sdopera.org/shows/la-bohem…

Diana Dubrovsky taught me piano when I was a child – she always saw my potential and believed in me, pushed me to do hard things and be excellent, and encouraged me to take on challenges. She came to my New World Symphony concert – the first time we’ve seen each other since I was ~13!

Looking forward to working with the superb and sensitive musicians of Omaha Symphony again! Can’t wait to conduct Bluebeard’s Castle – a brilliant orchestral work, as well as an incredible piece of music theater – in their beautiful hall. 📸 Todd Rosenberg
