Some parochialism was evident, debate and argument was vigorous. At the end we collectively reached an NP verdict. Lose juries, lose the people, a colony for keeps.

So sorry to hear of the death of Deirdre MacNeill QC. Calum and the family will be devastated. Its important to pause and value a life well lived. A woman of intellect, compassion and great professionalism. For my part that smile and charm are cherished memories.

Is it too much to hope gyms might soon open. They can be licensed to limit numbers at any one time, monitored for continuous cleaning and separation. Yes there would still be a small risk but the mental health positives are a good trade off? All night opening?

Gym opening(2) try a licensed PILOT scheme of limited numbers, continuous clean monitored and separation. Fitness and mental health would be a great holistic approach to making life tolerable for many. ( can’t buy home gym kit for lie or money)

Gym opening(3) Spare gym capacity under a pilot scheme could be used to host Mindfulness type small groups to support those feeling extremely vulnerable in isolation. Tv gurus no substitute I’m told as group ‘energy’ ( yeah I said energy) is absent. Imaginative and groundbreaking
