Madrid speaks out against the Villarreal-Barcelona match being played outside of 🇪🇸. Curious to see if other clubs do the same soon. Thoughts on the match & response, Liga fans?

Liga vs the Saudi Cup? Seems like more people (notably foreign fans) have taken issue with a Liga match being played outside of 🇪🇸 than a Copa match being played outside of 🇪🇸. Why is that? Why is the Copa more acceptable for those of you who take a different stance?

Remember when that one video clip of him had faux scouts pretending they spotted a gem, ready for him to replace Busquets? Peak Football Twitter posturing. TL was going wild from one short clip. Seriously. One single clip. 😁🤦🏽‍♂️

Seeing a few common observations abt La Liga's title race this season. 1. Barcelona faves, concerns abt depth & fitness. 2. Concerns abt Madrid not adapting to Xabi quickly enough. Misaligned squad? 3. Ppl are high on Atleti, but recognize they're still a ways off in quality. 🇪🇸

Nico Jackson Dani Vivian Roro Riquelme Mirandes' model of using loans each ssn is fascinating. They consistently punch above their weight & were THIS close to a Primera berth last season. Liga fans, you should check out Robbie Dunne's deep dive into one of 🇪🇸s most fun sides.

FIFA banning loans between clubs with the same owner? Curious to see how this plays out. One key question is, does it have to be a shared majority shareholder? Thoughts?

I’m a bit surprised at how many ppl put Atleti as title faves. Yes, they’ve spent a ton of money, but… context. They hadn’t spent for yrs, needed complete rebuild. Spent a ton on many players, but only 1 ceiling raiser (Baena). Stronger squad, still far from Barca/Madrid imo.

TBC, I’m not criticizing Atleti’s strategy. They’ve done it “right”. They could have spent on that money on 1-2 stars, sure, but they needed too big a rebuild. Better to build stronger squad than only on stars to “compete now”, imo. Gotta be realistic & look forward.

La Liga is back tonight, can’t wait! I won’t be active much (if at all) apart from GCs, esp w/anything related to the Big2. Done with the immaturity, toxicity, tribalism. Nonsense outweighs quality convos, more assholes than decent ppl. Enjoy the season, be kind. ✌🏽🇪🇸👋🏽

Seen this make the rounds. It shows how clubs like Chelsea & esp Aston Villa are at-risk of econ shock & killing their profits. Bad/short-sighted MGMT? Fun fact: pre-Covid Valencia, Sevilla, Barcelona, Levante, Betis all had W2R ratios of 65% or more. Barcelona: 74% (98% in

Since a few people asked, here’s the breakdown for Barcelona & Madrid’s wage to revenue ratio. Barcelona: 66% in 23/24 Madrid: 43% last year, 47% the year prior Madrid was consistently stronger b4 the lockdown too. Major difference that made them more financially resilient.

🇪🇸s biggest concerns ahead of WC26: ST & RB Other Qs: -When do we transition to the inevitable Huijsen+Cubarsi CB pairing? -Will Rodri be ready? -When will Balde take Grimaldo's backup LB spot? -Who takes 7th MID spot? Baena/Olmo, Isco, Gavi, Jaure, Barrios, Fermin Trials soon.

Friendly tip: ignore 99% of the "analysis" you see on FT abt 🇪🇸. Most comments are from club fans who only know their club & don't understand 🇪🇸 at the NT level. The next 9 months will be about trials & refinement. Guys will get picked to start who won't even go to WC. Calma.

Krejci to Wolves, €30m Badé to Bayer, €30m Mosquera to Arsenal €15m Pino, Baena sold for ~same fee Good luck trying to build narratives & agendas about La Liga based on transfer prices, ha. Each has context, specifically around club management & finances. There's no formula.

My tweets rarely reach PL Twitter, but my caution around betting on Nico Jackson brought some angry Chelsea fans to my mentions. I wonder how many agree with me now? Do I still "hate Chelsea"... or do big club fans just label (fair) opinions they don't like as "hating"? 😁

Peter Lim’s Valencia has sold the following players for a combined total of just under €26m. Cristian Mosquera Yarek Gasiorowski Hugo Guillamón Fran Perez German Valera Hugo Gonzalez Only 2 (Mosquera & Yarek) were sold for €1m or more. Maybe Lim can try blaming Tebas? 😏😉
