Received an email from Rino Rappuoli this morning informing me, Barney Graham, MD, PhD and Peter Kwong of the positive phase III data for the RSV prefusion F vaccine results in older adults. It's been almost 10 years since we designed the first prefusion RSV F antigen, DS-Cav1. Amazing!

Excited to share the pre-print describing our efforts to stabilize the HCMV gB ectodomain in a prefusion-like conformation. We and others have now routinely stabilized class I viral fusion proteins, but class III viral fusogens have been more difficult.
