After reading this morning that The Chancellor is about to make more cutbacks...I'm not optimistic in the slightest that Hospitality will get any help in the up coming fiscal statement. If I'm right, we will witness more Hospitality closures than any other time in our lifetime.

As Chancellor Rachel Reeves if you really did want growth as promised in the Hospitality sector, look what your German counterpart is doing. Reducing VAT for Hospitality from 19% to 7%. That’s how you get growth. finance.yahoo.com/news/german-pa…

Bloody hell, we don’t need to be open LATER! We can’t afford to staff the hours we are open now. If this is the solution proposed to save hospitality then I’m afraid that we are rather royally f&@ked. Please don’t tell me you had these people round a table this is what you asked?

40% of Hospitality venues are considering closing if there is no support in the Autumn Budget. Yesterday, I gave evidence to a Parliamentary Group and that was the stat they gave me from a flash poll. Our High Streets would be decimated, our communities ruined. The clock is

"They could be both full and losing money. The costs are now so high that even when demand is there, people are either making a small profit or no profit at all." Allen Simpson , our Deputy CEO, explained the challenging economics facing hospitality on BBC Radio 4.

Was able to highlight that hospitality is most highly taxed segment of economy - paying 75% of profit back to govt - and our consumers are the most highly taxed in Europe with almost half the price they pay being tax - without a lower VAT rate. We’re in danger of being #TaxedOut

We're calling for the Government to lower business rates, fix NICs and cut VAT at the Budget, as hospitality is being #TaxedOut. Read more about our campaign in City A.M. 👇 cityam.com/uk-hospitality…

"The tax bill on a high street restaurant is twice the tax bill of a major bank, as a percentage of their profits," Allen Simpson told Talk. The unjust tax bill facing hospitality is forcing them to be #TaxedOut. Join our calls for action: ukhospitality.org.uk/campaigns/taxe…

New figures show that hospitality has lost 84,000 jobs since the Budget - accounting for almost half of all job losses across the economy. At the Budget, the Government needs to lower business rates, fix NICs and cut VAT #TaxedOut telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/…

South Shields' hospitality industry contributes £40m to the economy and employs over 2000 people. As living costs rise, the Govt must do all it can to support this industry to thrive. That is why I am supporting UKHospitality #TaxedOut campaign. 📰: shieldsgazette.com/news/opinion/c…

How can hospitality revitalise the UK’s dying high streets if the business model doesn’t work when we’re being taxed out of existence?

Despite booming UK tourism, hiring is down 25% year-on-year. Rising costs are hitting businesses hard. ✅ Fix employer NICs ✅ Lower business rates ✅ Cut VAT for hospitality We risk losing the great British summer job. The Government must act before we are #TaxedOut.

3 years ago “We listened”. Then we got into power, shafted businesses (& in turn our high streets) with massive tax rises, and wrote a leaflet (in crayon) entitled ‘Labour saves small business, The End”. This lying, PR-obsessed Govt is an embarrassment & an absolute disgrace.

On BBC news this evening, we hear that 89,000 jobs have been lost in the hospitality sector since last October’s Budget. This represents over 50% of all job losses in the economy. Rachel Reeves this is next to criminal. #TaxedOut
