Hang in there. Our hearts and thoughts are with suffering Palestinians. This scene of suffering is painful more painful is the international community’s deafening silence…

The Atlantic Harmony making its way into the sunset towards the Black Sea on the gentle waters of the Bosphorus as the world goes haywire. What an irony!

With Friedrich C. Püttmann our CATS Network 👇paper, based on 50 interviews, examines the political feasibility of UNDP's "Türkiye Compact" that advocates trade facilities to 🇹🇷from 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇪🇺 in return for formal employment for refugees in 🇹🇷CATS_Network_Paper__No._17__17_June_2025.pdf

UNDP’s TC is a truly innovative idea. If it were to be adopted not only it can create 284K jobs it would also support this year’s ‘World Refugee Day’s theme ‘Solidarity with Refugees’. For the likelihood of its adoption and how see our report with Friedrich C. Püttmann 👇

This is painful! Can’t anybody say ‘stop it’? Isn’t there going to be some accountability under whatever is left of international law?

Kemal Kirisci (@kemalkirisci) 's Twitter Profile Photo

OMG. This is 2025 not 1945 just stop it, no buts, no ifs, she is clearly just a child but most importantly a human being, stop it, PLEASE!

The founding fathers of the EU must flipping in their graves and feel utterly betrayed. What on earth has become of the lessons learned from WWII and the Holocaust? History for sure cannot judge EU’s hypocrisy favorably. Spanish and Irish cries need to become louder.

Two veterans of European integration question & tear apart EU's "keep a close watch" policy over what Israel is perpetrating towards Palestinians. As a retired Jean Monnet professor I feel utterly ashamed of EU's inability to say "STOP IT". Shame on you EU foreignaffairs.com/europe/europe-…

After having sat more than 17 years mothballed my dad’s 1966 Chevy Caprice is back on the road having cleared inspection thanks to a ‘Amerikancı’ Ramazan usta, a member of a disappearing generation of mechanics who once were formed by ‘Ermeni’ and ‘Rum’ ustalar of Dolapdere.

This is yet another unbearable scene inflicted on civilians whose only crime is their identity. SHAME on an international community that is allowing this to happen in 2025 decades after the Holocaust and Srebrenica.

Utterly painful images! Were we not told ‘Never Again’ after similar images emerged from WWII concentration camps in Europe? Why are such images still with us 80 years after the Holocaust? Why don’t we hear LOUDER and more EFFECTIVE ‘stop it’ cries? Why?

May voices demanding accountability for the incompetence and poor governance that is fueling this destruction get louder and help save what green cover is left?

Kemal Kirisci (@kemalkirisci) 's Twitter Profile Photo

What can one say but ‘YUH!’ to the mentality that insist charging tolls to fire fighting engines to cross a bridge on their way to tackle forest fires? Adding insult to injury is that tax payers subsidize the operation of this bridge by billions of USDs.

Great conversation taking a critical view of Israeli actions/policies towards Palestinians with reflections from Jewish history and Judaism. 👇 youtu.be/X5kXCdzt_us?si…

This would be much more effective in terms of communicating the urgency of ending mistreatment and suffering of Palestinians than the belated symbolic act of recognizing the Palestinian state by Britain, Canada and France!

“Geçmiş olsun” to Mahmoud Khalil & thanks to ⁦The New York Times⁩ for sharing his side of the story as scary & disturbing as it might be especially the part on how the rule of law fizzles away in a country that is meant to be the “shining light on the hill”! nytimes.com/audio/app/2025…

A masterly deep dive into #Turkey's provincial universities, whose aim is not to train competent students (the teaching is mediocre and the teaching staff poorly qualified), but to promote economic development and help build the AKP's cultural hegemony. By tuğba tekerek
