There’s a DC-area Uber competitor called Empower. The model is that drivers pay $350/mo & get 100% of rider fare. Ride inventory is high in NW DC (pickup in 3 min v 10+ via Uber). Prices are routinely 50% lower than Uber. AG Brian Schwalb/Mayor Muriel Bowser now shutting it down.
