People often rush to give compliments when someone has said that they've lost weight. This is despite not knowing whether there is a physiological reason behind the weight loss (e.g. cancer, eating disorder, etc.).

Always remember, when you compliment weight loss, you could be complimenting: -an eating disorder - grief - depression - chronic illnesses - cancer Instead simply ask..... How are you doing? Please do not comment on the body.
