brand new had a generational three-album run (if you don't count daisy) and jesse lacey deserves his comeback (if you're okay with unapologetically grooming kids)

What makes you recognize someone are the near imperceptible differences in proportion, scale etc. You can't just apply "averaged asian boy" to resolve data that isn't there. It's not a real person. You are creating false memories. You are adding psychosis to your surroundings.

the "studio ghibli" slop is maybe the clearest example yet of why "slop" is the only appropriate term. compare it to the real thing; it's so obviously inferior — so painfully devoid of love or care or even just the benefit of time. turgid.

irony is dead and all but it’s pretty depressing to see Ghibli A.I. slop on the timeline not only because Miyazaki famously thinks A.I. art is disgusting but because he’s spent the last 50 years making art about environmental waste for petty human uses

if you don't realise that the frequency of your facetime / tiktok / voice note is different to (and much more disruptive than) normal human conversation, you shouldn't be allowed a phone or possibly even allowed outside

1. even the nicest restaurants in the u.s. act like you're an obstacle to turning the table. they're not rude, but they want you gone 2. american service is bad because they do not know how to leave you alone. it isn't good service to check in every 5 minutes. go away!
