Deepwater Horizon was a stark reminder of how important this protection is for the Eastern Gulf. Glad to see the decades of bipartisan advocacy on this issue culminate in today's declaration.

Happy Bird-day to us! 125 years ago today (3/2/1900) concerned Floridians founded Florida Audubon Society, FL's oldest statewide conservation organization. So yes, I donned a party hat & (noiseless) toot doodle in my favorite saltmarsh. Because you only turn 125 once Audubon Florida

Picayune is a near and dear project to Audubon's heart. Glad to see it so close to completion--and looking forward to celebrating with all the partners who have kept the faith all this time!

Proud to be able to celebrate Mayor Donna Deegan's proclamation to turn out the lights, save #birds + save #energy Thursday in #Jacksonville. Kudos to Duval Audubon + Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens for their leadership on #LightsOut NE FL! #conservationleadership

Changes proposed for mitigation could allow impacted wetlands to be replaced 100s of miles away, increasing communities' vulnerability to flooding, wildfire + red tide.

JUST NOW: Thank you to the Senate Committee on Fiscal Policy & especially Kathleen Passidomo Sen. Jennifer Bradley & Sen DonGaetz for voting down amendment that would have changed SB80 to allow golf courses in State Parks! Audubon Florida

A win for grassroots advocacy! HB 209, State Parks Preservation Act, has passed the legislature, strengthening protections for all 175 state parks while preserving the best of Florida's environment. TY to Gayle Harrell and @JohnFSnyder. The bill is now headed to Ron DeSantis.

Thank you to the Governor for his commitment to signing State Park Preservation Act into law! Congrats to all the advocates who engaged on behalf of Florida's parks.

The State may have to consider proposals like this, but they don't have to approve them. Florida's conservation lands are meant to be protected. It's "Florida Forever," not "Florida For a Little While."

Glad 2 see this put 2 bed in Hernando Co & folks speaking out for Guana WMA in St. Johns. Adding conservation lands=good, but trading existing parks for development is not the answer. FL Legislature must fully fund Florida Forever. Tampa Bay Times Audubon Florida tampabay.com/news/environme…

Governor DeSantis + FL Senate have both called for at least $100M in state budget for #FloridaForever; House proposals thusfar = $0. Floridians universally care about our public lands + protecting the iconic landscapes that make FL like no other.
