I wanted to refresh my maps plotting skill, so I delved into the latest French European election results, focusing on District 01 data (thanks Consulate of France in New York ). Surprising to see more registrations in Montreal than NYC and a clear North/South turnout disparity.

Great news! Our research led by @TimothyAWatkins and Ellen Foxman was published in Journal of Experimental Medicine last week and suggests that children's strong nasal immunity might be linked to a high burden of viruses & bacteria. Article available here! hubs.la/Q02F250H0

Yesterday I gave a try to Stable Diffusion. Surprised by how easy it was to install and how fast it can produce interesting results. First attempts (work in progress) to generate a Yale campus during fall images. And obviously a raccoon too!

Paper out! Using the murine parainfluenza virus Sendai, Ítalo Araújo Castro beautifully demonstrates that viral RNA and protein found in innate immune cells long after the acute infection is resolved contribute to chronic lung pathology nature.com/articles/s4156…

#NIAID-funded scientists developed a system of #organoids—lab-grown, miniature organ mimics—that can produce antibodies in response to #influenza vaccines. They could be used to help predict responses to vaccines in people with weakened immune systems: nature.com/articles/s4156…

🚨🔔 Delighted to see this piece of work from MRC-Uni of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research now out in Nature Microbiology! Indeed, it really reflects what multidisciplinary team effort can be. Guess what? Spike of #SARSCoV2 is not just about antigenicity/immune evasion… doi.org/10.1038/s41564…

Ever made a Venn diagram with more than 3 groups? DON'T ! It's just impossible to read. 🙈 Build an UpSet plot instead! You will need a few seconds to explain your audience how it works, but it's so much more insightful. R one-liner: r-graph-gallery.com/upset-plot.html
