At what point …… do we nurses think ‘that’s long enough’ to have nursed? I’m only 32 years in- but ….. wonder if it’s sensible to sideways step?

So overwhelmed. Seriously, tears in my eyes when these arrived during what has been a tricky few days for me . Happy #InternationalNursesDay 32 years in.

Today I have made some serious decisions about my future! About my back. About my welfare. And I am for the first time putting myself FIRST! Happy Monday Twitter friends.

More self care! 32 years a nurse! Never looked after me !

In 2 weeks I leave the NHS as a nurse consultant after 32 years straight service. I will still be a consultant - less days - much more money - more partnership. I only feel for my patients whom@I adored- and my junior colleagues. It’s sad it’s come to this. Nursing and Midwifery Council The RCN

After 32 years it is my first week of not working for the NHS. I feel very free. A bit sad, a bit despondent that it got to this point - but! Boy I feel free!!!!! Here is to my next chapter, new job, new way of working but to my boundaries and to my home life. ❤️

“You are just a nurse” How many times can I hear this in my career. This time for politely not agreeing to prescribe someone 2 different sleeping tablets at the same time. These throw away comments are so cutting. I wonder if they know these things hurt.

I’m starting to hate Twitter. It has become an opportunity of bullying, collaborative hate and harm. Why are you still here with your organisations ? This forum is hateful -allows freedom to harm. And I have had enough. So i say goodbye. I wish you all well.
