Results are in from this year's Southern Illinois Wheat Association tour — and for a *second* year in a row, data collected projects a record weighted average yield. This year's estimate? A stout 106 bushels per acre. 🌾farmweeknow.com/crop_condition…

It’s been a productive couple of days rating scab and taking notes on yield trials in Southwestern IL. Even found a couple of nice looking new wheat lines.

Some shots of our Small Grains field day today. We took a group of participants to 4 different fields and talked about wheat disease control, variety development and selection, and oat/pea intercropping research. Its always fun to show and tell. #wheat #oat

I've been seeing what I think are Cattail Caterpillars on wheat here in Urbana, IL (in a couple of different fields, just about every day that I walk plots). This is a first for me, I am wondering if this is just a fluke or something to be concerned about. #wheat

One of many firsts for our farm this month. Harvesting triticale for covercrop seed and forage for the cattle. Also did some barley today. Always willing to try something different.
