The fantasy world inhabited by tories where they are financially responsible is something to behold. Your time in charge saw a staggering increase in our national debt, weakening of the pound and Liz Truss. I’d say they had brass neck but they’d probably privatise the brass!

This week in the spending review and the big winner was the NHS. Having recently done quite a lot of work on mental health waiting lists I a statement on the use of this investment to push for more investment in bringing those waiting lists down and supporting people who need it.

I’ve written for LabourList on why despite my support for assisted dying in principle I can’t support this bill labourlist.org/2025/06/assist…

Thanks Josh. Well said. We - as legislators - are voting on the Bill (bills.parliament.uk/bills/3774/pub…) before us not on the principle.

"If you had asked me if I support assisted dying, I’d have said yes. But in the end, I am not convinced the safeguards are strong enough." Josh Fenton-Glynn MP on why he will now vote against the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill labourlist.org/2025/06/assist…

I tried to get in this point. I believe coercion to be a risk that we must safeguard against. It is deeply disturbing to me that some [not all] supporters of the bill don’t accept that this is a risk. My former role in safeguarding tells a rather different story.

“A vote one way will inevitably cause tragedy the other way. If the Bill falls there will be people who die a painful death unnecessarily, if it passes, there will be some who feel coerced into ending their lives earlier.” My article opposing this bill labourlist.org/2025/06/assist…

Josh Fenton-Glynn MP Talking good sense as usual Josh Fenton-Glynn MP I would recommend anyone interested in this debate to read this. It Is fair, with a perspective from both sides. Josh quite rightly identifies coercion and it's incredibly subtle nature. Very important to that this is recognised. We see enough

The Conservative’s amendment was what is called a wrecking amendment. It would have meant that measures in the bill to protect children would have not passed. It’s right that we are having an enquiry, but let’s get the facts right. Well laid out by Paul here
