Had an amazing evening at the Johnston community toy drive with Mayor Joe Polisena Jr. to spread some holiday cheer and ensure every child gets a toy this holiday season.

I am using eminent domain to take all 31 acres of land on the site of the proposed 252 unit low-income housing project. Instead, we will be constructing a new public safety complex. There will be a special council meeting tomorrow at 5:30pm to give me the authorization to do so.

I would like to thank the Johnston Town Council for granting me the authority to go forward with eminent domain on the 252 unit, 100% low-income housing site. Rest assured, we will provide our first responders and residents with the 21st century facilities they deserve.

At 10:40 a.m. today, through a petition in Providence Superior Court, the Town of Johnston officially acquired ownership of the property at 178-200 George Waterman Road by eminent domain.
