Macro is really awful on gender diversity. In top 10 econ departments there are 68 men in macro and only 7 women. Ratio is lower for juniors than seniors: 18 junior men, versus 1 junior woman.

Today are 50 years since a volcanic eruption began in Iceland that destroyed 1/3 of houses in the Westman Islands. Many people whose houses were destroyed moved away permanently. Together with Jon Steinsson and Emi, we studied the consequences of this. academic.oup.com/restud/article…
