Later this morning I will be joining Times Radio to discuss the CSR, police funding and police productivity. This is in the context of police reform and wider public sector funding, as police services are part of integrated local ecosystems. This will be at approximately 8.35

This day June 13th (1381) John Ball from Peldon, near Colchester, made a landmark speech on social equality to 50,000 rebels massed at Blackheath as the Peasant’s Revolt neared its conclusion.

Good afternoon, Alan. I am late to the party today to view and comment on Brynhild Parker’s “Interior”. It never ceases to please. It reminds the viewer of Brynhild’s artistic skill. It reaffirms my love of East London Group art. Thank you, as ever, for posting.

Good morning, Alan. Your posting of Cecil Osborne’s “Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road” every Sunday morning is a welcome calming constant in a volatile world. This painting encourages the viewer to stop, reflect and enjoy. One can’t avoid being absorbed by it. Thanks for posting.

By way of an alternative to Cecil Osborne's iconic view of "Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road" here's "Canal at Bow" by Walter Steggles from 1931. It depicts the bridge that carries what was the Great Eastern Railway across the Lea Navigation near the old Bryant & May factory.

Good morning, John John Tizard & thank you, as always, if rather tardily on my behalf. Yes, Brynhild Parker was a very talented artist whose work covered a range of different subject matter. Here's "The White Hat" by her from 1935 from the collection Manchester Art Gallery.

Thank you, John John Tizard as always. As you say, Cecil's painting certainly causes one to stop & look & it takes on a calming quality as a result. In a different way, I think that "Woodbridge" by Walter Steggles, from the early 1970s, generates a similar feeling of calmness.

It is fantastic be attending and participating in the Luton TurkFest celebrating the Turkish community’s contribution to the town and the county. We are a county of many communities but we are very much one community - a united community of friends.

“Young people must lead the fight against knife crime” argues ⁦Montell⁩ We must heed his advice and ensure that young people have leadership as we tackle knife crime and other heinous crimes, and the social, economic and emotional causes of crime. lutontoday.co.uk/community/opin…
