The Ukraine #WarmScotsWelcome has been a partnership between Local Authorities & the Third Sector. Today John Hawryluk ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ๐ฐ๐บ๐ฆ joined @cosla and Ukrainian Mayors to hear Minister Kaukab Stewart MSP announce ยฃ600,000 funding for key Third Sector services supporting the Ukrainian community.

The relationship between Scotland and Ukraine is becoming stronger with every engagement. Privileged to spend the day with mayors from across Kyiv exploring collaboration opportunities between our nations and delighted of hear Kaukab Stewart MSP announced ยฃ600k third sector funding.

A honour to co-host with the Minister for Equalities Kaukab Stewart MSP COSLA a delegation of LG Leaders from across Ukraine. Thanks to The City of Edinburgh Council and AUGB Edinburgh ๐บ๐ฆ๐ช๐บ for their contributions today. Ukrainian Mayors are playing a fundamental role in preserving democratic governance

Really positive meeting this morning with Jeremy Balfour MSP, alongside colleagues from Circle & Crew 2000, to discuss disinvestment by The Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership in the cities Alcohol and Drug services for CYP. Savings cannot be made on the back of the most vulnerable.

COSLA welcomed colleagues from Ukrainian Local Government to Verity House yesterday. COSLA expressed full support & solidarity to the Ukrainian people, and local/regional government standing ready to support displaced people. Joint release with Scottish Government: bit.ly/3ZE1bK1

โผ๏ธNEWโผ๏ธ The EIJB has delayed its final decision on proposed ยฃ2.2m in funding cuts to Edinburgh mental health charities from June 17 to Aug 26 The delay follows a public meeting on May 26 where service providers implored the EIJB not to "rush" the decision edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinburghโฆ

Last week I joined a public meeting by thrivewellbeing on proposed EIJB cuts to mental health services. After last yearโs Third Sector cutsโnow this? A short-sighted, paper-based exercise that will pile pressure on GPs & acute care. edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/opinion/cโฆ

.SAMH Redwall Garden is one of the projects at risk in the proposed The Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership cuts. A delay of decisions to August is welcomed by the sector, but we need a collective conversation about how the third and statutory sectors work together for the citizens of Edinburgh.

Looking forward to a morning at Charteris Centre exploring #FairWork and its role in a thriving community. The funding landscape in third sector is particularly challenging however #FairWork is something that should be embedded across our practice.

Really positive Cross-Party Group on Ukraine meeting convened by Colin Beattie discussing mental health. Really positive contribution by Feniks. Counselling, Personal Dev and Support Serv presenting some of the research findings over the last few years. Challenges are ahead but collaboration and investment is key.

We were proud to welcome the โRebirth of Ukraineโ mission to Scotland โ a landmark visit by mayors and business leaders led by Mayorsโ Club Ukraine. Organised with our Business & Economy Group, it marked a powerful step toward recovery and long-term partnership ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ๐บ๐ฆ

This was such a key proposal from Cllr Vicky Nicolson to ensure the EIJB strategy fully represented the communities it seeks to serve. Key now is to influence the implementation plan to ensure third sector are seen as an equal partner and Prevention & Early-Intervention is central focus.
