Today I pressed the Prime Minister to rule out cuts to disability benefits for those who simply cannot work. Worryingly, he chose not to answer. Disabled people and those who care for them deserve our support and they deserve clarity from this government.

Referring to disabled people who aren't in employment as 'wasted potential' is deeply ableist, dehumanising, and eugenicist, actually.

Just did the maths. My full PIP is £9500/year but my wheelchair cost £6500, Batec £5500 & my car was a £800 non-returnable deposit with a lease of £75/week. So just to be able to go to work I'm down £6400. Yeah scroungers all.

Don’t require people to work if you’re not gonna give them the support that they need to do so. Go after the people that might be gaming the system, put money into that. Make sure that people that cannot work have the ability to live above the poverty line.
