Interesting to see the image diffusion community rediscovering the advantage of jointly estimating semantic tokens and "acoustic" tokens. This was a key to MusicLM, but it's neat that diffusion can do it jointly rather than conditionally.

Do diffusion models want Perlin-like noise? SDXL-turbo spends the first blocks simply creating Perlin-like noise of different frequencies, amplitudes and orientations. The model ignores the prompt conditioning during these layers.
