The 7th annual #ReflectingRealities report is published today. Brilliant, vital work from our friends CLPE. This year's survey shows an extremely concerning decline in the presence of racially minoritised characters in books published for children in 2023 in the UK.

Devastated to hear of the passing of Morag Styles. Such an incredible scholar of the power of picturebooks and poetry for children and one of the biggest influences on my work. So privileged to have known and learned from her. She leaves behind such an incredible legacy.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Morag Styles, a champion of children’s poetry and picturebooks and a great influence on our work at CLPE. On multiple occasions Morag chaired and judged the CLPE Poetry Award. A huge loss to the world of children’s literature.
