Once again, the past 3 days of atmospheric setup have mainly benefited coastal & nearby interior regions with pockets of heavy rain. Model forecasts continue to show a strong bias toward the Ghats. However, ideal conditions for big spells will develop for same region in 3-4 days

Widespread #KeralaRains with several heavy rain spots till 17:30 hrs—parts of C-#Kerala saw 10 cm in just 2 hrs. Rain-related hazards reported from C to N Kerala, incl. rockslides/mudslides, especially in the ghats of #Kozhikode. Yet another day for rain to slow down. #StayAlert

Today marks 1 year since the #Mundakkai-#Chooralmala landslide — caused by continuous rain in an already wet area, followed by a day of extreme rainfall. It was Kerala’s worst-ever landslide with the highest fatalities in the state’s history. #WayanadLandslides #KeralaRains
