Got to see the 4k remaster of Seven Samurai last night, just absolutely wonderful. It's amazing how timeless the characters and themes are, all the humor still works 70 years later. By the end you truly feel like you know the whole cast, you've lived in that village.

The Number one biggest failure of the current Hollywood system is marketing. They're genuinely terrible at creating awareness or hype. This is why theatrical releases are so important, it forces a bare minimum of marketing.

I was thinking about the Matrix and how the reason it works is because it really isn't an Action Movie until act 3. Acts 1 and 2 build up all the pieces and stakes, and saves every amazing splash page for the climax. It's 4 back to back to back all timer action scenes.

Weapons understands what so many other horror films don't: it's all about the last 5 minutes. Actually it's all about the last 2.

Flawless Texas switch from the digi double to the real life actor. Superman has some really well done VFX across the board.

My biggest complaint of Superman is that we didn’t get enough of these 2 together. Give me like an HBO max daily planet special or something.
