Our MICU team last year had low morale after a really horrible code. We still needed to round in the afternoon. And there was a guy on our service waiting to transfer to the floor who had just been decannulated. Before that he had talked over his trach saying he wanted ribs. 1/2

For World Lung Day, we are eager to share our letter to the American Thoracic Society, calling to eliminate race adjustment in Pulmonary Function Tests. With this, we can take steps towards advancing racial equity in health care. Read: on.nyc.gov/3regzes

We found that residents in our program lacked skills to accurately complete death certificates; when we realized it wasn’t just a local problem we created a curriculum anyone can adapt for UME, GME or CME learners! Check it out:

As an IM resident in the ICU, I felt like my male colleagues were doing tons of lines while I got few. I wondered: am I imagining this? Is this gendered? Turns out others wondered the same. So we decided to study it. The results are now out in @atsscholar. atsjournals.org/doi/full/10.34…

If your journal is going to automatically reject papers based on certain policies you should 1) include the policy in your instructions for authors and 2) not take a month to send the rejection

Debriefing is one effective tool for healthcare providers to process traumatic events they experience at work. Can a brief workshop improve senior residents’ confidence at leading team debriefs after difficult events? James Wykowski bit.ly/3V6o33E #MedEd
