Lawrence Dunhill 1. It's really depressing that the focus is on 76%. This will inevitably focus effort on the 'quick wins' and discharged patients. Meanwhile there is deafening silence about the utterly miserable 12 hour (from time of arrival) stays.

Paramedics, including me, often provide I.V. Paracetamol as an extra top-up of fluids when considering pain/pyrexia management in a hypotensive patient. It makes sense right? There's a wee 100ml of fluids to help out. No brainer right? Wrong. 🧵1/8

Emergency Medicine Journal James Nicholson Pete Williams Ysbyty Gwynedd ED Royal College of Emergency Medicine If you haven’t got time to read this (short and well written) paper, the spoiler is that DELAY to care is by far the most important factor. Much more important than any individual condition. #resuscitateemergencycare

When we build bigger roads, we get more traffic. Congestion briefly gets better, then the same, then worse. £Billions is spent in the process. Instead of dualling roads, what if we used the space for active travel instead? Here’s a thread on why it should happen.🧵

Physicians! You need to know the figures from this study when you talk about lumbar puncture with your headache patient. A negative CT means a low post-test probability. How many LPs do we need to do to identify one SAH? What will the patient accept? SAM Online
