A great meeting of the Advisory Board yesterday afternoon to discuss the issues facing the sector. We discussed the recent correspondence to Dominic Raab and how we continue to raise the profile of restorative justice principles within Parliament.
Today the House sat with questions to @luhc ministers. CalComms was pleased to see Secretary of State Michael Gove acknowledge the housing shortage, as well as his calls for local government and other partners to help deliver homes and increase supply. #Planning #Development
As the Group Secretariat to the Canzuk APPG, we are pleased to see Britain joining the #CANZUK nations in the #CPTPP. We hope this increased economic collaboration between our 4 nations will provide the basis of a future multilateral economic pact, a key aim of the APPG.
Today the APPG held a productive meeting with our Chair Elliot Colburn to discuss the Victims and Prisoners Bill. We're working hard to ensure that Victims have access to Restorative Justice. #RestorativeJustice
Michael Gove's very own local council (Surrey Heath Borough Council Borough Council) has confirmed that its local plan will be delayed by 10 months as a result of the government’s proposed changes to national #planningpolicy. Publication of its pre-submission LP is now due between Nov23/Jan24
This weekend the APPG is visiting the safe standing section at VfL Wolfsburg EN/US 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 stadium. We look forward to experiencing this first-hand and hope this marks the beginning of further parliamentary interest in safe standing! #SafeStanding #Wolfsburg
The CalComms team were truly delighted to visit the VfL Wolfsburg EN/US 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 Volkswagen Arena and witness a leading example of what #SafeStanding can be. We are excited to continue to make a case for #SafeStanding to Parliamentarians across the UK!
Last week at the second reading of the Offenders (Day of Release from Detention) Bill in the House of Lords Jenny Jones raised the issue of Restorative Justice and the value it has in delivering real change to both victims and offenders #RJ #RP
Wonderful news for the #CANZUK movement in #Canada, as both parties officially endorse the movement. As the Group Secretariat to Canzuk APPG, we look forward to continuing to promote the alliance in our own #Parliament and raise awareness abroad in 🇨🇦🇦🇺🇳🇿
CalComms agrees with @luhc Secretary Michael Gove's admissions that "There simply aren't enough houses in this country." We welcome the Minister's reassurances that the Government were "absolutely committed to more houses being built." 🏘️🏘️
Today at the Victims and Prisoners Bill Committee, Chair of the APPG Elliot Colburn raised the importance of Restorative Justice. At the session, he emphasised the need for this amendment within potential legislation, which would improve access and awareness to RJ for victims.
The APPG welcomed comments from Janet Daby MP at yesterday's Victims and Prisoners Bill Committee debate. It is vital that the scope of RJ is known in all sectors, including Prisons, Courts and in Education. #RestorativeJustice #RestorativePractice #VictimsBill
