From a clap for the NHS to a slap in the face. The Government’s priorities are completely wrong. We should be thanking our Covid heroes, not cutting their pay.

Nurses' pay has fallen by around 10% in real terms since 2010, while the wealth of the UK's richest 1,000 people rose from £336 billion to £742 billion. Let's tax the super-rich and give NHS staff the pay rise they deserve.

The PM said the criteria for the levelling up fund "take in data on poverty, employment and so on". Richmondshire in the Chancellor's constituency is ranked 301 out of 381 for child poverty and has the second-lowest unemployment rate in the UK. Why is it classed as priority 1?
