Jockey ⁦Junior and Kelly Alvarado⁩ makes a house call to his partner, ⁦Kentucky Derby⁩, ⁦Belmont Stakes⁩ and Jim Dandy winner Sovereignty at HOF trainer Bill Mott’s barn Sunday morning. Obviously, a special bond between the two. Travers next.

Busting up big corporations and tackling Wall Street’s greed. Getting big money out of politics.  Strengthening unions and fighting for higher wages. Medicare for all, paid family leave, universal childcare... This is the progressive populist agenda we need in America.

Reminder: Tariffs aren't paid by other countries, no matter what Trump says. A tariff is an import tax, raising the price of almost everything we buy. Tariffs are also regressive — taking a higher percentage out of the paychecks of working people than out of the wealthy.

I’m excited to be joining Stephen Colbert tonight on “The Late Show.” Back in 2013, I joined “The Colbert Report” to discuss how we build an economy that works for the many, not just the few.

Trump hates facts. He rejects truth. He doesn’t want the public to know what’s really happening. Trump has destroyed the credibility of the BLS — an extraordinarily important source of information. [Cartoon by Adam Zyglis]

Thanks to Trump's cuts, seasonal employees at Yosemite worked for as long as six weeks without pay. The National Park Service is one of our most popular government agencies. It's being gutted to fund enormously unpopular tax cuts for the super-rich. npr.org/2025/08/04/nx-…

What Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is doing in using the Texas Hill Country Flood Disaster as the predicate to do a mid-decade redistricting is not just Machiavellian in every way possible, but, as a matter of basic human decency, is despicable. My full statement below ⬇️

THIS is why Donald Trump told Greg Abbott to engage in mid-decade redistricting. Americans are angry that Republicans cut healthcare, blew up the budget and gave the top 1% massive tax cuts. Trump is AFRAID of angry voters, so to avoid them, he’s trying to rig the midterms.

After an abysmal jobs report, Trump fired the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. And Trump’s Labor Department just announced that it will rewrite or repeal 60+ regulations that protect workers. But his most dangerous move yet is flying under the radar.

What the congressman fails to state here is all that new tariff revenue was paid for by you. Tariffs are nothing more than a tax passed on to the consumer. Next time Nick complains about taxes remind him he loves increasing taxes on you, they are just called tariffs.

Tariffs are projected to cost U.S. households an average of $2,400 in 2025. Americans, not foreign countries, are paying the prices of Trump’s tariff war. Nobody asked for this. cnbc.com/amp/2025/08/01…

Numerous studies over the years have found that Medicare for All would cost less than our current system. Even a study by the Koch-funded Mercatus Center found that Medicare for All would save around $2 trillion over a 10-year period. We can't afford NOT to do it.

So DOGE-related cuts and early retirements eliminated 550 staff at the National Weather Service, and now the NWS is being granted special permission to hire 450 positions to relieve critical shortages. Such a waste of time and resources.

Donald Trump says he's ENTITLED to five more Congressional seats in Texas. I have news for you, Mr. President: You may not like it — but as long as we live in a democracy, you are entitled to NOTHING. You still have to EARN the votes of the people in this country.

Reminder that in 2021, Senate Republicans filibustered a bill that would have banned partisan gerrymandering of congressional districts.

Barack Obama (@barackobama) 's Twitter Profile Photo

We can’t lose focus on what matters – right now, Republicans in Texas are trying to gerrymander district lines to unfairly win five seats in next year’s midterm elections. This is a power grab that undermines our democracy.

Trump’s ENTIRE case that numbers were rigged is based on clear, undisputed facts that show the OPPOSITE! I welcome any factual dispute. There is none. Trump says benchmark revision of 818,00 jobs were after the election. They were in Aug 2024. They were revised after election to
