Bike lanes keep people safe, move people efficiently, make our city more accessible to more people, and reduce our emissions. If Premier Ford really wanted to reduce gridlock, he’d add bike lanes and help fund transit operations. William van Geest, Ecology Ottawa) #ottbike

Bike lane plans were studied for years. Then pilot lanes were installed, and studied for years. When the designs were made permanent, they were refined further. These are not "poorly installed lanes". It's propaganda from *poorly installed politicians* lying their asses off.

It is a really jarring moment to be a historian. To know what might be coming is alarming. To realize that no one around you sees it or acknowledges it is a weird place to be in. Its like time traveling without time traveling. 1/8

One of the most obvious things to do if you really want to make cities better for people, and thus more successful, safe and enjoyable, is make our sidewalks bigger and better. This one is worth a read. #CitiesForPeople sociallifeproject.org/double-loaded-…

What does it take to move 1000 people? Better infrastructure supporting mobility choices that don’t take up so much space (or produce so much emissions/pollution, cost so much public money, etc). Graphic via Seattle Subway based on a Sydney graphic I spread around years ago.

Another collision on Cambridge Street today. This time at Dorchester. This was predictable and preventable. Call your city councillor and say you support 30km/h residential. Safe Speeds Winnipeg Janice Lukes Devi Sharma Markus Chambers #winnipeg #wpgpoli
