And here is a cool table, showing what remains when you drop experimental, superseded, deprecated, defunct, questioning, and reexported functions, from tidyverse packages.

Pleased to announce the first big one. I hope it does the body of scientific knowledge justice. A million thanks to all of those that contributed and supported me and kept me going every time I wanted to give up. I am very blessed and thanks be to God. Locally enhanced digital

My brain holds complex 3D models of all the properties I forage, 100s of acres & varieties rendered down to individual trees & integrated across years & seasons & capable of high accuracy forecasting. It's not a high information volume problem, it's about low reward density

Got an async flatgeobuf reader working in Python tonight (with s3, gcs, azure support) via geoarrow-rust! This will support bounding-box queries as well, directly from remote files.

Plug for {jNSMR} #rstats 📦. It is an interface to the (Java) Newhall model for soil climate, notably used for estimating moisture/temperature regimes with US Soil Taxonomy. Try and break it, I've been thinking about polishing it for CRAN. github.com/ncss-tech/jNSMR

PSA: All #rstats package on #cran will get an official DOI! This will facilitate bibliometrics and giving credit to R package authors. Registering all 20,000+ packages will still take a few more days. But the first couple of thousand are already live. Example:

Do soil enzyme activity assays need buffers? No. Building on previous work, we find buffers (i) *suppress* activity of phosphatase and (ii) alter apparent kinetic properties relative to water. doi.org/10.1016/j.soil… With Skye & soils & JordonWade.bsky.social Natural Resources Conservation Service Soil Health Institute
