Interesting paper comparing 24 hour call to night float. Back in the day it was 32-36 hr call. I remember falling asleep while charting... Sleep, Well-Being, and Cognition in Medical Interns on a Float or Overnight Call Schedule jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…

☀️🌙 New paper out from our group today! We measured the personal light exposure patterns of ~88k individuals and found that bright nights and dark days longitudinally predict earlier mortality. Paper here: pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

So excited to share a new paper in Nature Mental Health! We built idiographic machine learning models to predict suicidal thoughts with EMA data. This is my 2nd dissertation paper and I'm thrilled to see it out! Huge thanks to all co-authors (tagged below). nature.com/articles/s4422…

Circadian-informed lighting improved sleep, sleepiness, and vigilance compared to control lighting. These findings support the potential for lighting interventions to improve sleep and vigilance in night shift workers chronically exposed to dim lighting. ow.ly/h6eo50U4Gwo

Interesting paper on nuances involved in how HRV metrics should be captured and analysed to get better insights on patient related outcomes. There's great potential for validated consumer wearable devices to disrupt this space after getting regulatory approvals.

The debate around how evening exercise timing and intensity affect sleep has been around for years. This new nature study from Monash University, Will Ahmed, and the WHOOP team is genuinely groundbreaking. It’s one of those papers you immediately wish you'd written. Here’s a short

Fascinating work on predicting negative affect in serious mental illness using > 1 year of smartphone + wearable data. Personalized ensemble models performed best (AUC 0.72-0.79). GPS was most predictive; high inter-individual heterogeneity highlights the need for personalization
