Changing from reflexive mandated reporting to case-based led to drop in filings w/o change in custody disposition. Multidisciplinary hospital-based team decision making can identify protective factors and risks.


Adoption of a trauma-informed clinical practice guideline at Boston Medical Center requiring identification of specific protective concerns in the setting of prenatal substance exposure led to a large reduction in CPS reports. ja.ma/3UMOKtm
