To our readers: We did not make this decision lightly. We are deeply committed to the success of the The New York Times. We also know that we produce our best work when we feel valued and are treated equitably. Thank you for standing by us today.

The The New York Times is white space and white noise without NYTimesGuild members. Stand with us on the digital picket line! Read local news. Support public radio. Pull out a cookbook. Break your Wordle streak.

This contract is more than an investment in us: This is an investment in the future of the The New York Times and an investment in the public that we serve. I’m walking out with 1,150 of my NYTimesGuild colleagues for a fair and complete contract.

Much of the public's attention on the NYTimesGuild strike has focused on its journalists. I spent today talking to low-wage concierges, security guards & IT workers on strike - fellow Guild members - who stand to gain the most from the union's demands. thecity.nyc/2022/12/8/2350…

This earnings report is a testament to the value that NYTimesGuild workers create. But instead of agreeing to a contract with reasonable cost-of-living raises and a 65K salary floor, my company is heaping hundreds of millions on shareholders and fighting to cut our health care.

The The New York Times recently disclosed the latest compensation packages for our top executives. Among the highlights: Our C.E.O., Meredith Levien, was paid $7.6 million in 2022, up from $4.4 million in 2020. That’s a 73% increase.

Throughout our negotiations, the company has refused to offer Guild members raises that keep pace with inflation. They have also resisted an immediate $65,000 salary floor, which would cost less than $1 million a year — far less than Meredith Levien’s most recent raise.

Two years without a contract is too long, but the unity and resolve of NYTimesGuild won’t waver until we secure a fair deal that ensures workers are fairly paid for our contributions to the company’s success.

It’s been 112 days since NYTimesGuild asked you to break your Wordle streak to honor our one-day walkout. We still don’t have a contract. Sign our letter to tell The New York Times execs that enough is enough. bit.ly/twoyearsnyt

After more than two years of negotiations, we can finally say it: NYTimesGuild and The New York Times have reached a tentative agreement on a groundbreaking new collective bargaining agreement.

Do not cross the digital picket line while Insider Union ✊ is on strike. Repeat: Do not cross the digital picket line while Insider Union ✊ is on strike.

As members of NYTimesGuild, we are baffled and infuriated by the Times proposal to dissolve our storied and award-winning Sports department. This announcement is a profound betrayal of our colleagues and of Times values.

The The New York Times's decision to replace our Sports desk is clear union-busting. I stand with more than 1,000 NYTimesGuild, Wirecutter Union + New York Times Tech Guild members in demanding that Times management stop violating our contract and respect union work.

from courtside to the nosebleeds, say it with me now: The New York Times sports jobs = union jobs!

I call foul on the The New York Times's decision to eliminate the sports desk. I stand with more than 1,000 NYTimesGuild, @WirecutterUnion + New York Times Tech Guild members in demanding that Times management stop violating our contract and respect union work.

Our sendoff to a section, and a group of incredible people, who deserved better. Grateful to NYTimesGuild for helping us celebrate this storied department and the workers who made it what it was ❤️✊
