The Arran Locals, led by Captain Greg McCrae, lead the The Links Diary team 7-3 after Day 1 at Corrie GC. Was very happy to get a point with the captain in Foursomes. As always, Team Arran member Ewan McKinnon has Corrie in immaculate condition. Day 2 tomorrow at Shiskine. 1/2

“Even though I’m English I love all things Scotland. Whisky, Empire Biscuits, Del Amitri, Archie Gemmell and of course golf and The Links Diary. From getting No.1 with the imposing photo of the 18th hole at the Old Course, I’ve been hooked. The publication takes you to all parts

Seve is just an infectiously positive and all round top bloke. Add in Tron Carter and you have the perfect Podcast. It also helps that they big up Arran so much. 😉

For those that don’t already know.. SweetensCoveGolfClub really does live up to all the hype and expectations! Truly sensational. Forever grateful to Jim Hartsell for giving me the opportunity to place such a place.

Arran is home to 4600 people. There are seven golf courses on the island: three 18-hole courses (Brodick, Lamlash, and Whiting Bay), two 9-hole courses (Machrie Bay and Corrie), one 11-hole par 3 (Lochranza), and the unique 12-hole course at Shiskine Golf & Tennis Club.

I don’t want to alarm anyone, but Hyde Park is BACK. It took some slings and arrows from people who simply don’t know ball, and the bones are still great and the skin and hair and soft tissue is improving. Some real golf holes out there. The kind of stuff they don’t make anymore.
