Delighted that our work with Jamie Williamson and Jessica Rabuck-Gibbons on characterizing ribosome assembly heterogeneity is out in Structure. Raw data that gave rise to 42 distinct intermediates is freely available on EMDB - EMPIAR @EBI. More below. 1/12

I love it when proteins move a lot! In our just published structure of DNA replication restart proteins PriA/B + replication fork (nature.com/articles/s4146…) we see one domain swing almost 90° upon DNA binding, turns out this is important. Awesome collaboration with Keck Lab.

nature.com/articles/d4158… I feel there can't be many people who have a quote containing colorful language in a journal?

Making cryo-EM grids by flying particles through a native mass-spec is pretty cool, but can it be cooler? Yes - by adding a LASER! Particles damaged by the process can be fixed by adding a thin layer of ice then briefly hitting the grid with a laser! tinyurl.com/49aurm35
