Well that was a fun day. Debbie and I both have streaming colds so tucked ourselves away. We weren’t hungry so had egg and chips for Christmas dinner. We cheered ourselves up later by booking a holiday to Lesvos in April, I can’t wait to get back there. Now I need some fresh air.

I had a bit of luck with the Copt Hall Great Grey Shrike this morning. I was watching it from a distance when it took off and flew straight towards me, landing 25 yards away.

My cappuccino at Dunwich Coastguards was interrupted when I heard the song of a Dartford Warbler just 20 metres away.

Purple day on the old road at Abberton EWT yesterday with 4+ Emperors and lots of Hairstreaks.

Purple Emperor showed well at Abberton today, unlike the Norfolk Hawker which refused to pose for photos.

A good day for butterflies today but maybe not so good for dragonflies!
