Four years ago today we moved our family to Johnson City. While the career move has been even better than I could have envisioned at the time—the biggest blessing, hands down, has been the people we now call friends. Truly blessed to call this place home.

Last long run before Kiawah in the books. Celebratory making it to the end of the training cycle injury free beer—before noon. I combined it with my annual birthday, day off work run & beer.

The M and I are attempting something that we have never done before—run a race together. She likes to talk and encourage. I like to curse and question my life decisions. If we make it to the finish—I feel good about our marriage going the distance.

Man—miles 18-26—hard to describe. Pure misery.

The real ball drops at 7am tomorrow with the 4th annual New Years Day Murph at Arrowhead. No hollow resolutions—just getting after it—setting a tone for the next year.

Murph will always be my favorite workout. But for me—miles 18-26 of a marathon feel a lot like the 2nd Murph mile—except you have to repeat it 7 more times...

One day time will rob us of our abilities and our friendships—today—is not that day. Yeti 24 underway—5 miles every 4 hours for 24 hours with some great human beings.

Reading Dr İbrahim Fatih DOĞAN Stamped From the Beginning. Not sure exactly what I was looking for in a book to help me better understand racism—but I found it. Historical, connecting past & present, uncomfortable self-reflection, deeper understanding. A must read in this season of learning.
