My group has recently published a small paper that provides a few ideas regarding the ICE1-CBF regulatory model in the plant cold response. Our findings fully support the results of Kidokoro et al. 2020 reported in Plant Cell. doi.org/10.1007/s12374… rdcu.be/dUv6P

Under our modified conditions, 1. ICE1 doesn't function in the cold induction of CBF genes. 2. Cold stress does not influence the protein abundance of ICE1 protein. 3. HOS1 does not function in the cold regulation of CBF genes.

Important new work from the Jung lab. Quite scary that such a central pillar in the cold sensing pathway is almost certainly erroneous. Always look at data critically, even when it is repeated in dozens and dozens of papers and reviews!
