You want to force divalent cations other than Pb2+ in CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals? Well, they wont' really enter, but they can do plenty of other interesting things, especially in conjunction with tertiary amines. Read our recent article in J. Am. Chem. Soc. to find out what happens!

🚀 Excited to announce the latest publication on #Cathodoluminescence in #GaN materials! Cambridge Materials and Oxford Materials compare Ga and Xe ion milling, revealing Xe ions cause less damage, preserving luminescence properties better. doi.org/10.1063/5.0211…

A good write-up of one key paperwork issue in moving to Italy (text in Italian). Note - while the article discusses the challenges for Italians returning from abroad, the same applies to non-Italian researchers who want to build a career here: ilpost.it/2024/09/06/ric…

This collaboration featured a lot of fascinating electron microscopy to study relative orientations and crystallography of heterostructures with a shared interface. It was also a lot of fun to explore selective elemental replacement in the components of the heterostructure!

Thanks to all who helped and came along to the IIT area at the Genoa science festival Festival della Scienza ! We had a small demo, set up by Andrea Griesi, on perception and resolution, to promote discussions about microscopy and nanomaterials

Another very challenging material to study with electron microscopy, doing high resolution imaging on these nanocrystals was a lot of effort!

New paper out - this is a fascinating heterostructure with a metallic Bi nanoparticle attached to a nano-bell. Our contribution was an extensive TEM study to look at morphology, composition and local strain - thanks to Andrea Griesi for all the EM work!

Amazing work from everyone in this project! Good insights on the use of guanidinium in perovskite solar cells, it was a pleasure to be involved in the electron microscopy for this work
