Lost in all the hoopla over the hanging chads is the fact that a voting machine in Volusia County, Florida subtracted 16,000 Gore votes in the same 2000 election, an “error” discovered only bc an alert poll worker noticed Gore’s total going down. (I’ve posted about this too.) 16/

What can we stil do to protect the midterms against hacking? First, we can micromanage county election officials to provide sufficient paper backups for touchscreen voting equipment and e-poll books, which are vulnerable to denial-of-service attacks. 1/

Nobody marches about our awful voting system because the people we trust the most—including Obama, Hillary, and cable news darlings like Rachel Maddow MSNBC, @lawrence, & even @JoyAnnReid—have ignored and/or significantly underplayed the severity of the problem. And they continue to do so.
