Lost in all the hoopla over the hanging chads is the fact that a voting machine in Volusia County, Florida subtracted 16,000 Gore votes in the same 2000 election, an β€œerror” discovered only bc an alert poll worker noticed Gore’s total going down. (I’ve posted about this too.) 16/

What can we stil do to protect the midterms against hacking? First, we can micromanage county election officials to provide sufficient paper backups for touchscreen voting equipment and e-poll books, which are vulnerable to denial-of-service attacks. 1/

Nobody marches about our awful voting system because the people we trust the mostβ€”including Obama, Hillary, and cable news darlings like Rachel Maddow MSNBC, @lawrence, & even @JoyAnnReidβ€”have ignored and/or significantly underplayed the severity of the problem. And they continue to do so.

Just as our other checks & balances have failed, so too has the notion of any sort of check on our election systems. There is still much we CAN do 2 protect our votes in Nov, but we must do it ourselves. See Thread below. #RemoveTheModems #MonitorElectionOfficials #MonitorTheVote

Republicans lost Governorship of NC in 2016 and moved to strip the Dem of power. They just lost the Governorship of WI and MI & now seek to limit the power of the Gov. This is banana republic behavior. And it needs to be a national story. Friends please organize in WI and MI

Since total predicted turnout is expected to be about 1.45 million... would the 2011 WI supreme court race with about 1.5 mil turnout provide a better county to county margin compairsion than more recent sup court races? Thx
