Not been well last few months. Bluelighted to Aberdeen and spent a week in the cardiac care unit. Long term (probably genetic) issue resulted in a few problems with my heart. Will spend the next year rehabilitating. Lots of lifestyle changes, hopefully come out fighting fit.

Second week of resistance training since getting outta hospital. Going well so far, but my heart's capacity for exercise seems to be random. Hit the wall half way through my routine today. Feel down now but will have some food, play door kickers 2 and get back to it later.

Egg & Cheese bagel with extra egg for meal 1 today. Having another read of Epictetus' discourses to get my heid intae stoic mode to prep for my Masters thesis. Mad chest pain earlier, bit worried but it vanished after I took my meds. Another day on the long road to recovery.

Fond memories of cutting about the astro in Dingwall at a 5 a side tournament representing my Nanas church. Long hair and a Batistuta Roma top. I believed I was literally him. What a player.

6 months post-heart failure diagnosis. Back to work on a phased return (in the office next month) just shy of 5 stone lost, back at the gym, diets holding up, Total mindset shift. Really keen to spend more time with my mates, do something creative. less time spent grafting.

6 months ago, was bluelighted to ARI and spent a week getting blasted with drugs for heart failure. Didn't know if I'd live to see 2025. Tonight I played 10 minutes in a league game for my club. Still a long way to go, but I'm right proud of myself tonight.

Used some deep heat spray on my shoulder in the gym tonight. Breathed some of it in. Felt like i'd licked lava.

Closing in on 9 months since I had my spell in hospital with heart failure. Went into hospital weighing 136kg. Weighed in at 95kg today. Gym 3 days a week for 6 weeks. Getting stronger & fitter. No booze/caffeine/refined sugar. Not gonna die now. 💪

I'm stepping back this year to focus on the last semester of my Masters and my continued recovery from heart failure. An excellent opportunity to get involved with a club that will genuinely appreciate your contributions.
