When someone introduces you to a new contact in the music industry, they’re vouching for you If you disappear or act unprofessionally, it doesn’t just impact your reputation—it can damage the trust and relationships of the person who made the introduction.

BUILDING FAN RELATIONSHIPS *** Looking beyond the streams is vital to ensuring success for your music career. Have a read of an article I've written focusing on that: garycunninghammusic.medium.com/looking-beyond… #Musicindustry #Musicbusiness #fanengagement

Currently in an Uber on the way to Liverpool Street station to get to Essex for a very late night podcast shoot (schedules mean this is the only way) and I’ve gotta say, London is one of the most vibrant cities ever, love it.

Fans in general are the backbone of the music industry. I genuinely think this is where most independent artists go wrong. They neglect to build real, meaningful relationships with their fans. It takes time & consistency but it is SO worth it.

THIS!!! “Blowing up” VERY rarely happens overnight. There are countless hours put into crafting the perfect song, the perfect post, the perfect caption. All to please the algorithms and reach a wide audience. First and foremost though, your music has got to be KILLER!

The amount of times my neighbours have defo seen me dancing like a donut in my kitchen doesn’t bare thinking about but when the music slaps you gotta move!!

Just in case anyone in the #musicindustry has forgotten, always read your contracts and for goodness sake hire a lawyer.. the amount of artists I’ve seen get screwed over by the small print in record deals is staggering

Artiste/Songwriters: Stop hoarding songs. Music ages quickly. What feels fresh today might sound outdated tomorrow. Release it while it still has life.

A&R DUTY (@aandrduty) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The next frontier of the music ecosystem isn’t just about artists or labels… it’s the A&Rs. They are the ones who scout, shape, and scale talent often long before the spotlight finds it. As the industry evolves, their role is becoming indispensable. Ignore them at your own risk.

The most cut throat industry there is! Gotta grit ya teeth and keep pushing sometimes. And remember that if you don’t believe in yourself, you’ve lost half the battle!

Creative people should only make art when they feel inspired not just for the sake of the performance and other people’s consumption

This might be the most important part of being a creative. It’s not talent, It’s not resources, It’s not even connections. It’s STORYTELLING. Pay close attention to this, mastering it can completely change your game. 👉🏽 Retweet & bookmark, another creative needs to see this.

music isn’t moving you because you don’t sit with it or give anything time to resonate. yall treat songs/albums like single-use items & wonder why nothing sticks.
