Why would the committee want Vanderbilt in the CFP when we all know the committee loves boring blowouts instead of close, competitive games???

Winning the Dr Pepper tuition contest using the chest pass and making the College Football Playoff after losing to teams like Arizona State, Louisville, SMU, Miami, Florida State, and Texas Tech are why we all love college football.

Miami and Notre Dame saved one another’s CFP chances in Week 1 by: 1. Being overrated to start the season 2. Playing a close game Vanderbilt torpedoed its chances by: 1. Beating ranked teams late in the season 2. Losing close games on the road to very good teams

Vanderbilt had 4 wins against teams who were ranked at the time. Their losses were road losses to teams that reached rankings of 1 and 4, with both close at the end. This underscores just how worthless the ranking system is and that it’s designed to propel committee darlings.

If only Vanderbilt had lost to Louisville (at home) and SMU instead of Alabama and Texas on the road…
